DIANE VON FURSTENBERG
Diane von Furstenberg joins the fashion world in 1972 with a suitcase full of clothes made of jersey cloth and immediately gains great success. Two years later she created the wrap dress, which becomes the symbol of power and freedom for an entire generation of women. In 1976 she had already sold over one million dresses, which gained her the cover on Newsweek. In 1997, after a long pause from fashion, Diane re-emerges in New York relaunching her company to the point of turning it into the global luxury lifestyle brand it is today.
The Spring Summer 2012 collection called "Beginnings" made in collaboration with Yvan Misppelaere, seems to effectively be a new start: refound lightless, which comes from fluid and snug volumes, with poetic colours and precious fabrics, swishy and with accents of male lines as a contrast. Romantic and free, beautiful and important.
